HubSpot’s Claude Sales Plugin Drafts Follow-Ups From CRM Context

Released September 25, the free plugin packages eight sales skills. Sellers need a paid Claude subscription, and the connector’s record updates and activity logging remain labeled beta.

HubSpot released its Sales Plugin for Claude on September 25, 2026. Its /follow-up skill uses deal and conversation context to prepare an email draft, which HubSpot says a seller can send from HubSpot. The familiar post-call task gains a starting draft; the seller still sends the message.

The plugin is free and includes eight prebuilt sales skills. HubSpot lists its Claude connector for all HubSpot products and plans, including free accounts, but users need an active HubSpot account and a paid Claude Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise subscription. For a sales team considering it, those are separate requirements: an eligible HubSpot account does not make the Claude subscription free.

From call record to next message

HubSpot’s plugin description puts the follow-up draft alongside other sales tasks. Its /log-call skill is described as recording notes, updating a deal stage and creating a task. Together, those functions address what a seller does after a conversation: record it, identify the next action and prepare a message. HubSpot’s connector listing, however, labels record creation, updates and activity logging beta, even though the plugin is offered for installation.

Access depends on permissions and settings

According to HubSpot’s setup guide, a Super Admin or user with App Marketplace Access can connect without prior app approval; other users need Super Admin approval. Authorized data access and each user’s HubSpot permissions govern what the connector can see or change. HubSpot also says accounts with Sensitive Data enabled cannot expose engagement data to Claude, a relevant limit for teams expecting conversation history to inform a draft.

Teams can set write tools to Needs Approval. The guide also describes an Always allow setting that can permit edits without another confirmation, so review of CRM changes is a configuration choice rather than an unavoidable step. The immediate use case is straightforward: prepare a context-based follow-up draft while keeping the decision to send it with the seller.
